VIOLENCE IN TRINIDAD NE CONTINUES

7 people shot in the Trinidad area of NE DC on Saturday. Pictured above at a earlier age is 13 year old Alonzo Robinson who was visiting his grandmother from Alabama died due to senseless violence. His mother was also shot but survived the driveby.

Even there a legal case against the idea, DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier is going to continue police check points in the area til things cool down.

I can’t believe that whoever was “visiting” that Trinidad neighborhood during this “lockdown period” with a little kid was dumb. If they had a series of shooting in fronmt of a certain club multiple times in a months time, would you still be so ignorant to be standing on the streets in front of the spot like nothings wrong? It’s like that movie “Boyz in the Hood” when that drive by car came by and shot up everyone in front of dudes house at the end and his son was on the front sidewalk like they were out in the suburbs somewhere. Until they catch these crooks or have a full “season” of quietness, I wouldn’t hang around on the sidewalks, would stay away from ground floor front windows and would lock up my house and car 24-7. they know it ain’t safe around there. The only people that should be shot is the dudes they were after but I guess if his family and friends are going to just have a ‘cookout” on the front lawn like nothings wrong in the neighborrhodd instead of the backyard, you’ll see more of this “collaterale damage” shootings in that or any “bad” neighborhood.

Being radio personalities, why don’t you have more conversations about violence, considering your audience is primarily younger? And at the same time, how can you have a conversation and then at the break play some of the senseless music that seems to perpetuated?
It almost seems like you’re part of the problem. Also, a one day talk for (15 minutes total time) is not really benefiting anything……
