I think that the supreme court has made the biggest mistake ever by allowing the gun band in DC to be lifted. Every day you hear on the news that someone was shot or killed by someone who had a gun. It’s worse now in DC with all the shootings, and I think this is just going to make it worse. What’s the point of having the police patrol certain areas of DC because of all the violence? Their decision (the supreme court) to lift the band has just made it harder for citizens to feel safe and easier for anyone to carry a gun.
Thats a ridiculous comment. When the 1994 “assault weapons” ban was lifted was everyone running around with an AR15. NO. GUN CONTROL DOESNT WORK. ITS A PROVEN FACT. Current gun laws are not enforced. A small circle of people committ gun offenses and are let back on the street to offend again. The 2nd Amendment is for US, the citizens to defend against a tryrannical government (where we are headed with OBAMA), criminals or whoever threatens our freedoms. What if other amendments were on the line? would you want the 1,3,5-8 amendments in jeopardy? THE 2ND AMENDMENT DEFENDS THE OTHER AMENDMENTS, WITHOUT IT WE WILL LOSE THEM ALL
I believe that it was a good decision. The criminals target individuals who they believe aren’t armed faster than other armed individuals. Most of the gang violence are premeditated which means that they plan their attack when going against someone that also carry guns and usually those crimes are commited during the late hours of the night. Criminals would have to change their strategy to robbing and raping and even murder now that the ban has been lifted. It’s not going to be that easy to take something that doesn’t belong to you. Maybe the crime rate will decrease now that criminals have to actually think first.
I was the woman that called and said ” Have the people on the hill and the judges come and hear the gun shot I hear every night.” Look this comment is for the man the said they are getting ready for the new. SE is growing and for the better and soon I believe the black wont be able to afford to live there, but I still said by what I said. Our children are killing one another and just because the ban has been dropped do they really think that the killing will stop? “NO” what able the little children they have been tough to play with guns? and now you have a real gun in your home. You cant be every where a little child is. You are in the kitchen preparing dinning and you hear a gun shot and its in your living room, your three year child that you tough to pretect himself as the caller said is dead. What if your young teenager is getting tease and they just cant take it anymore and you have a gun in your home guess what that gun will be in that book bag and off to school, play ground, mall or even sitting on the front and here we go again another young life gone. This law wasnt change for us and I understand but why let them get away with this when our children are killing themselves and each other. What about the children no one thought about them when passing this law did they. Hell No. I am thinking about my teenager and I am so pissed.

A good start to a comment, and finished with an idiotic comment. Tyrannical government? Post an example how the govenrmnent has been “tyrannical” towards you? Yes, it’s not the greatest government by far, but do you really feel the need to turn a comment political? Ok, if you do, then let’s see, McCain or Obama? A continuance of the Bush administration with our ridiculous involvement in foreign problems with an ever rising national debt or someone who could potentially change the way that the White House has been ran for the last 8 horrible years?
Geez people, stop being so g*ddamned stupid and keep it on topic. The gun ban was idiotic, lifting it will not increase violence. The guns used in most crimes are illegal guns.

Another idiotic comment. If your young teenager is getting teased at school and resorts to taking your gun from your home, it’s the parents’ fault. Not the law’s. Why? Here’s why:
1) Getting teased at school is part of growing up, deal with it.
2) It’s the parents’ fault for not teaching their kid better
3) It’s the parents’ fault for not securing the gun away from the reach of children.
I was raised in a home with a gun, I was teased in school. Did I ever take that gun and bring it to school or outside of the house? No. Because my parents thaught me better and because I feared them more than the trouble I would get in for having a gun in school and because the gun was SECURED with a trigger lock and in a safe. Hell, i was scared sh1tless when the school called them telling them I had PAGER in school, I got beat by my parents when I got home.
Everyone wants to blame the government and not themselves. Think about how you raise your kids and then you’ll find out the problem. You.
Yes, I know that gun violence will increase. They have all this violence now and then say that people can have guns will be a free to kill card for people that already have guns. They will kill someone and will not have to do alot to get away with it. Just say they had a intruder. Or someone tried to rob them or something. They need to band all guns, the only people that should have guns are police and fields that require them. Then, what will people need guns for if no one have them. They will not need a gun to protect them right. That’s what I think.
Nope. Having a “legal” gun in DC is like having a registered car. If someone steals your car and commits crimes with your car, then you’d have better had a police report in on your stolen car way before it’s used in a crime. Ever gun that is supposed to be used in home defense is registered with a ballistic test. If someone steals your gun, you report it, like your car, and then the cops have a footprint by the ballistics on your gun. If it’s used in a crime, Breaking and Entering will be another charge on the dude when they finaly catch him. Criminals probably will use the same, un-registered illegal guns they always have been using. The legal guns will hopefully deter Sean Taylor like home breakends once crooks know that there’s more than a snarling dog or a baseball bat waiting for them on the “2nd floor”…
Just to add, I wonder how the Trinidad neighborhood would be if the average home had a registered gun? Think “they” would just randomly do drive-by’s if averybody in the hood, neighbors and friends could return fire for the next two blocks while they try to get away cause they ain’t having this no more? The do it cause they don’t think no one else is going to have an answer to what they are bringing. That’s why spots in Texas and other Southern States have such a low crime rate, casue EVERYONE is packing so you rob a resturant full of packing patrons, everyone will pull oput their guns with the store keep as soon as the guy turns his back. How many times does a crook need to hear or see that before he ain’t so eagar to charge into a situation or area? If those kids knew that Sean Taylor had a “Scar Face” type of arsenal in his bedroom, do you think they would have ran up there so fast? The gun law in Florida didn’t work so well for him did it? He brought a knife to a gun fight…
