POLICE MAKE ARREST IN NE DC TRIPLE HOMICIDE
Police have arrested a suspect in the murders of 37-year-old Erika Peters and her two sons who were found Saturday in their NE DC apartment. MPD is saying that the three were killed my Peters’s boyfriend, 44-year-old Joseph Randolph Mays. If you or someone you know is being abused, please get help now before it’s too late. The police were called by a neighbor of Peters who reported a distrubance. Upon arrival, MPD found the boides of Peters and her two sons (whose names have not been released) and also found an injured Mays, who later was arrested in connection with the murders. Mays had non-lifethreatening injuries.
Police say Mays is charged with three counts of murder. Family members say he was not the boys’ father, but he was the father of a 2-year-old girl who was found unharmed inside the apartment.
Family members tell FOX 5 that Peters’ two sons, 11-year-old Erik Harper and 10-year-old Dakota Peters, were the boys found inside the home. They also say Erika Peters was an active member of her church, Greater Mount Calvary Church, where she was part of the deaf ministry.
Police have not yet confirmed the names Peters’ children, but they do say one of them was pronounced dead at the scene and the other later died at the hospital. There’s no word yet on how the victims were killed, though police say they suffered from upper body trauma.
Metropolitan Police say they’re offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information in the case.

Yet another instance of domestic violence. The really sad part is that they had a two year old daughter together, and now that baby is motherless!
