I don’t know where to begin! This is a very unfortunate situation. I say unfortunate because obviously that’s what the young boy is. He’s being raised by his grandmother which means he is unfortunate to not have a mother and/or father to teach him, he’s unfortunate because he really don’t understand the severity of what he’s done. Most of all he’s unfortunate because he lives in an society that would rather see him punished, and not helped.
In addition, he clearly didn’t understand the danger, and severity of what he had done based on his response to the officers questions at the end. BUT! he did understand that he wanted to do something bad or “Hoodrat” for his friends. SOMEBODY GET THAT BOY SOME HELP QUICK! WE WILL RAISE MONEY FOR ANY OTHER CAUSE WHY NOT ONE THAT WOULD HELP SAVE A YOUNG MAN BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!!!
They should have locked up his mother! It’s a shame that he already knows what his punishment is going to be, no video games for a week! It’s also very important that we know the kinds of friends that our children hang out with. Clearly if his 7 year old friend had a newport and we likes to do “hoodrat stuff” then they never should have been friends from the start. Not to mention his chubby little butt looks spoiled and his environment is all wrong to begin with.
