NEXT STOP IMPEACHMENT!
Illinois lawmakers voted unanimously on Monday to create a bipartisan committee that will recommend whether to impeach Blagojevich or not. They also quickly ended the notion of holding a special election to fill the Senate seat once held by President-elect Obama that Blagojevich, the governor of Illinois, was arrested for attempting to sell.
While all of this is going on, Blagojevich is holding on to his job for dear life. His attorney has said that Blagojevich has no thoughts of resigning. In fact, Blago signed 11 bills into law Monday — including one mentioned in the 76-page FBI complaint against him. Ed Gensen, Blago’s attorney, said, “I think that the case that I’ve seen so far is significantly exaggerated…It’s not what people think it is.”
