COUNTDOWN TO OBAMA: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW….
Getting around town during the Inaug will be crazy. Expect delays. It goes without saying that there is going to be mad traffic on the roads and in the Metro stations, but here are a few key things to remember:
* If taking Metro, arrive to stations as early as possible to avoid long lines. Also, be sure to pre-purchase your SmartTrip card prior to Inaug Day because it’s going to be hectic in there.
* If you plan on driving into DC that day, keep in mind that there is very limited parking in DC in general, but when you add in millions more people, well, you get the idea.
* The Metro will be operating on a rush hour schedule for 17 straight hours (4 am – 9pm), will stay open for two extra hours (until 2 a.m.), and charge $4 for parking at its facilities.
