When I saw this article I had to write about it. First it was the racist comic with the monkey and the excuse that the NY Post “didn’t mean it as anything racial”? Now a watermelon patch in front of the White House?
It’s like saying we know they are black, look at the watermelon in the front yard. Now who is going to explain this one? The illustration is part of an email that was sent out by Los Alamitos, Calif. Mayor Dean Grose that depicts the White House front lawn as a watermelon patch. Keyanus Price, a local businesswoman, received the e-mail and was appropriately offended. What I don’t understand is why all this racial stereotypes through pictures, emails and comics I thought thoses days were over. Although we would never forget them but we need to come together as a nation and handle home before someone else does. However in some minds they may say whe need to get over it, but in our minds we are not the ones who needs to get over anything. We are America and some things are going to have to change. We know about history but you don’t make fun of it every chance you get. This watermelon thing was the latest in a string of racially tinged controversies aimed at President Obama that he graciously never responds to but offends those of us who feel demeaned because of our ethnic background.

I don’t even know what to say… that ish is crazy! I would hope it was there before Obama?!
We are not the ones who need to over come they are! People have so much hate within their hearts that it’s unreal! Now the real question is have we truly come together as a nation??
