[VIDEO] FL. GOV TAKES STEPS TO REPEAL "STAND YOUR GROUND LAW" WHILE NEW JUDGE WILL 'APPLY THE LAW'
Despite Florida Governor Rick Scott taking steps to repeal his state’s controversial “Stand Your Ground” law with a 15 member task force that will look at the gun law in the aftermath of the shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, the new judge appointed to the case may “apply the law” as it pertains to the case in his presiding.
“He’s a judge that removes emotion and will apply the law”….and what does that tell you????
The most important matter is to ensure that the ‘Stand Your Ground’ is REPEALED! Whether now or later, that ‘good ole boy’ legislation must be removed from the books!
The governor has designated a special task force that will begin review of the controversial law. The task force is chaired by Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll, and the vice-chair is the Rev. R.B. Holmes Jr., a prominent African American minister in Tallahassee.
Members include state Rep Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, who authored the 2005 bill that passed the Legislature; Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle; former Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Bell of Pensacola and Okaloosa County Sheriff Larry Ashley. Several Orlando-area legislators are also members.
