[UPDATE] ANACOSTIA HIGH SCHOOL FIRE, DCPS RELEASES INFORMATION

*UPDATE* DCPS has released the following information:

“School has been dismissed. Afterschool activities have also been cancelled. BBall game scheduled for tonight at Ballou HS will still be held. Once the school building has been fully evaluated, we will make an announcement about students returning to school on Tuesday.”

A fire broke out at Anacostia High School on 16th Street in Southeast just before noon. All students have been evacuated and dozens of fire and EMS are on the scene. Details are still unfolding but it has been reported that 1 firefighter sustained injury and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. More details to come….
