Summer is here! Unfortunately in this area increased temperatures and violence go hand in hand.

Last weekend DC sponsored its annual DC Carnival weekend which was sadly cut short because of impromptu brawls that began on Georgia Ave. and spilled onto the campus of Howard University. Additionally, a young man by the name of Henri (AHN-REE) Pratt met an untimely death on Sunday while attending a party. The mid twenty year old father was stabbed approximately twenty seven times, while many others looked on!

Who are you warring against? Better yet WHAT is within us that we are HELL bent of KILLING our brothers and sisters?

Seriously, we gotta do better than this! City officials have wanted to discontinue the Caribbean festival for years…have we just given them the justification to do just that?
