Question 4: The Maryland Dream Act — will allow the children of undocumented workers to get in-state tuition at Maryland public universities, if passed. The outcome could be the difference between achieving educational aspirations and not reaching full potential for thousands of people in our state.
This question/referrendum has been all but swept under the rug being overshadowed by the Gay Rights Act as well as the Question 7 the Casino questions. Sure the latter bring in revenues, but politicians aren’t paying attention to the long term gains that would surely follow those eager to earn American wages.
At the end of the day people just want a chance to live a life without fear of persecution, oppression and/or death. On the bottom line, having people who will do the jobs that no one else will do-just makes fiscal sense. By empowering a large population of people that are embedded within the infrastructure of our communities…it is a no brainer!
