Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons brought out major star power in Washington, D.C. during his second Hip Hop Inaugural ball… On the eve of President Barack Obama’s second inauguration, Russell pulled off one of the most star-studded hip-hop events of the year at the Harmen Center in the Chinatown section of Washington D.C. Although he was on the west coast while it all went down, his function was one of the most talked about happenings in the city. The ball not only celebrated President Obama’s victory, but also paid homage to individuals who dedicated their efforts, time, and money and effort to reelect the President during his campaign. In addition, the ball also celebrated some of the names that shaped hip-hop.
Hip Hop legends Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte, Fab Five Freddy, and Yo-Yo were on the scene, plus newbies to include 2 Chainz and Meek Mill. The hosts of the evening were the gorgeous La La Anthony and Terrence J. who kept legions of hip-pop’s honored guests entertained throughout the event.
