The evening was glamorous and filled distinguished artists who were present to be honored for their craft. However, the evening was riddled with sarcasm and even racial satire that was inappropriate yet got a response. With that said…THE ATTACK OF A CHILD CROSSES THE LINE!
Everyone wants to persecute those who viciously attack children physically. In recent reports a white man slapped a black child in the face with his mother present because the baby would not keep quiet on a plane ride. Twitter and Facebook were on fire with how the attacker should be handled given the severity of his inconceivable act yet during an evening of swank and swagger, the assaults packaged in the form of jokes were barely given a blink.
Beyond the fact that Quevenzhane Wallis, has a very unique first the child star is gifted beyond comprehension. Her performance in BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILDS was phenomenal especially given the fact the child star was only six years old when filming occurred. Since the 2013 Oscar awards aired, the child has been subjected to vicious attacks the likes of which many so called adults should truly be ashamed. The backlash from all communities is reminiscent of the malicious attacks, Olympic winner Gabrielle Douglas sustained during her victorious performances.
This little black child has made history. She is the youngest EVER nominated AND of color. Yet some media ‘person’ found it necessary to call her a cunt for displaying a resounding confidence and overwhelming joy to be in the presence of other cinematic greats.
Yes, we are fully aware that haters come with the victory. However, it is evident that boundaries have totally eroded within this apparently cyclopic society.
It is with great pride and honor that I personally encourage little Miss Wallis and anyone else who decides to use their gifts to improve the world in some way. Those that are attempting to cast shade for purposes of blotting greatness need to reassess their motivation. Are they benefitting anything or creating destruction and havoc? Honestly, ethical weighing would most likely not even enter their scope as they are comfortable with being malicious whenever the chance presented…even against small children, senior citizens and people of color.
We’d be remiss if CONGRATULATIONS were not extended to little Miss Wallis. She has been cast in the upcoming role of Annie. She is poised to make history yet again, by becoming the first black actress ever to play the role typically given to little red head white children.
