[DMV NEWS] WALE KICKS OFF HOWARD THEATRE GRAND RE-OPENING TONIGHT!!!
DMV’s own Wale is set to take place in an EPIC affair for the grand re-opening of the historic Howard Theatre!!!
The MMG rapper will play the grand opening of the new Howard Theater tonight (4/9), and it wouldn’t be DC if he didn’t bring a go go band with him. Tabi Boney will also take the stage.
Washington Post’s Lavanya Ramanathan, who was lucky enough to get a peek at the newly renovated spot, writes that it now sports “interior walls lined in warm black walnut, a basement outfitted with a state-of-the-art kitchen, and a balcony level just starting to see the installation of cozy banquettes.” Nice.
You can get a first look at the 102-year-old building on April 9. Also billed to perform in the first week of the grand reopening: Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Chaka Khan, Wanda Sykes,the Roots, and Bad Brains.
