[VIDEO] DMV NEWS: MO.CO. IS 'STACKIN' ON THE BAG TAXES!
The Washington Post reported Thursday that according to data released that day, $154,000 was collected in the first month of Montgomery County’s bag tax. The county expects to make $1.2 million for the entire year. BRING YOUR OWN BAGS!
If customers pay the tax like they did in January, the county could bring in 50 percent more in revenue than expected but officials expect the rate at which customers are buying bags will drop off.
