Despite the negative portrayals of black women in reality shows Shaunie says she is trying to combat the poor stereotypes…REALLY? When given a platform it is very important that one uses it for good and not the perpetuation of evil(s)!!!!
Read the letter she submitted to CNN and drop your thoughts on the subject. Isn’t she capitalizing on these chicks and their experiences with wealthy athletes?
My role as executive producer of the show does not negate my concern for how black women are portrayed on reality TV, but I do believe that there are some shows attempting to strike a balance and have a positive message despite the drama. I’m personally working with Shed Media and VH1 to make sure that “Basketball Wives” stands among them.
CNN: SHAUNIE SAYS SHE’S OVER IT…but is she really?
Isn’t she an executive producer on the show and can edit the film in any manner that she chooses to represent these women in any light she deems necessary to get survival ratings?
There are some conflicting messages here….

Her response sounds very politically correct…She knows drama = ratings. SMH!
