According to an artilce in the NY Daily News, the FDA has approved the sale of meat and milk from cloned animals. The FDA says, ‘Meat and milk from cloned animals is as safe as that from their counterparts bred the old-fashioned way.’
See this is exactly the reason why our children are experiencing many more illnesses, diseases, and conditions. The government and scientists need to leave our food ALONE. This is just wrong!
Not to mention the fact that many farmers who have experimented with the cloning of livestock have been categorically ignored by the FDA when they reported having cloned livestock who suffered from severe illnesses due to genetically weaker immune systems. Did I mention that no studies have been done to determine how this process of re-creation can affect humans?
What are your thoughts? Don’t forget to let your Congressman/woman know how you feel on this subject. You can find your congressional representative’s contact information HERE.
I understand that the original intent of cloning is for breeding not eating. Thus, it is interesting to note that the FDA has approved the sale for by products of cloned livestock.
What is happening to our food will hurt us for years to come, but espeically our young people – who have probably never tasted untainted food. This is real, you need only to look at our teenagers – they are huge at 10 years old and younger.
I agree. This is utter insanity. Who knows the real impact of consuming cloned meat, especially on children? I know I would want to know if I have been served the real thing or something that has been cloned.
You all raise excellent points of concern. -IEN-you are absolutely correct. The question becomes who came up with the brilliant idea to sell cloned meat and by products & why? Stay tuned for latest developments regarding this issue. Thank you all for your comments!
See this is why I am going to farm when I get a house! Raise cattle when I become wealthy! You need to know where your food is coming from! I try to eat as much organic and all natural foods, fruits, and juices as possible…you best believe that the cloned meat is gonna be unbelieveably inexpensive and consumers are going to flock to it like kool-aid. I always say you can’t put a price on your health! You only have one body! If it cost $1, then how much do you think it costs the manufacter to produce it??? Next to nothing… can you get quality for next to nothing???
Whole Foods, Wegmans, Harris Teeter great stores! A friend of mines mom buys all her meat (grade A) at Whole Foods and other items else where… and another friend told me that stores like Shoppers have grade D meat…
Dont know how true, but you get what you pay for…some things may be overpriced, but for the most part…you get what you pay for!
Well Lady A, I hate to burst your bubble but an investigative story was done on the authenticity of WHOLE FOODS organic foods claims and they found that a large majority of their frozen organic products came from China. Which means by the mere fact that they come ACROSS the ocean and are produced by very unsanitary conditions means that the product is losing its “organic quality”. Fertilizers and location of the “farm raised products” may also taint its quality. However, apparently FDA does not monitor those things from foreign countries and therefore we (USA) has no way of knowing for certain what is actually organic or not.
I think you had it right in the first sentence…we just need to raise our own if possible. I am going to home depot and get some pots to create mini gardens in my backyard and on my porch. It may not yield alot but at least I know where it’s coming from! Thanks for your comment
