BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPOTLIGH- TARAJI HENSON
Taraji P. Henson was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She attended Oxon Hill High School and graduated from Howard University. As of now, this D.C. native resides in Los Angeles and enjoys reading poetry, fashion, dancing and she appreciates a variety of music. Taraji is well known for her role as Yvette from John Singleton’s Baby Boy with co-star Tyrese. She is no stranger to the T.V. either. Henson has appeared on Sister Sister, Smart Guy, The Division, Murder She Wrote,ER, Hair Show with comedian Monique’ and the imfamous Hustle and Flow with Terrence Howard to name a few.
Henson is currently being nominated for an Oscar for her role in The Curious Case of Bejamin Button with Brad Pitt. She, much like Pitt, has a strong passion for helping disabled and less fortunate children and reveals, “I always stress to kids to have faith in themselves – the greatest recipe for success is self-confidence.”
