Toxic threats in everyday products are impacting our world in ways that we could never imagine. Surprisingly the FDA refuses to test the products because they have been so entrenched into the productivity of industries that the back lash would be more of a annoyance than ensuring the safety of consumers! STRANGE BUT VERY TRUE!
The verdict is finally in!
For years sociologists and medical professionals have been quite concerned about the progressive increase in reported cases of diagnosed cancer, childhood obesity, and adult obesity especially among women. There have also been discussions regarding whether or not the chemicals added into the plastic containers that hold everyday personal hygienic products, food, baby formulas, are directly responsible for interfering with a woman’s own endocrine or hormonal system.
These chemicals are quite possibly responsible for the increase in children born with autism, ADHD, and other anatomical, mental and even metaphysical imbalances. Environmental chemicals are causing many physical manifestations and no one is really admitting to the existence of the drugs impacts on mankind. Incidentally, the FDA does not require approved testing on chemical products that the consumers of the U.S. handle…only the ingested drugs.
Checking the checker is our task. The FDA must reform their current policies regarding the testing of these chemicals and others like them.
THE FACTS:
BISPHENOL A (BPA) was a drug created in the 1930’s and 1940’s to be used as a synthetic estrogen drug. Actually the SYNTHETIC product has disrupted the woman’s natural hormone production and has been called into question for contributing to sexuality determination in gestation.
Phthalates are the related chemicals that make plastics flexible. This synthetic product can also be found in some cosmetics, air fresheners, and cleaning products (fragranced ones particularly). Research has suggested that Phthalates contribute to weight gain and that they may interfere with the male-type hormones (testosterone production is impeded) found in both men’s and women’s bodies.
“I was born gay” takes on a whole new meaning now!
Obesogens are those chemicals that play a significant role in the rise in obesity.
Tributyltin (TBT) is a common chemical to make PVC pipes. This substance is used to preserve boats and can also be found in shower curtains. It is also used in many packaging products and has caused mice to develop extra fat cells. Apparently the stem cells turn into fat cells. Perhaps Alzheimer’s is a result of overexposure (note to self…research this further). Though the experiment was conducted on mice, given the inordinate increases in body weights-this chemical without additional testing becomes a prime suspect in the medical malfeasance contributing to the degraded health of America.
Last year, a group of researchers from the University at Albany in New York found traces of TBT in every single sample of house dust taken.
The following diseases are theorized to be induced by chemical exposure:
Auto immune disease
Lupus
Crones
Breast Cancer
Diabetes
ADHD
Endometriosis
Infertility
Polycystic ovary syndrome
Endometriosis
THE STATS:
• Over the past twenty five years the incidence of obesity has risen by 74 percent among INFANTS.
• Six month olds are fatter today than they were in 1980.
• Birth weights are decreasing nationwide.
• Research has proven that organisms exposed to BPA in the womb were at higher risk of breast cancer.
• Research has proven that BPA was linked to autoimmune disease in animals.
• Currently researchers are determining the effects BPA has on human heart disease.
• Women’s fertilization is impacted significantly when exposed to BPA.

SOLUTIONS:
• Eat well and exercise
• Buy fresh produce if possible (no packaging)
• Choose food in glass containers instead of metal cans;
o The BPA in metallic cans soaks into tomatoes.
• Don’t put plastics in the microwave
• Always buy organic versions of foods that have edible skins
• Cut back on cleaning products with fragrance or air fresheners
• Filter your tap water
• Take off your shoes before entering your home
• Buy cheap flip flops (that are worn in the house ONLY) to keep at the door.
• Check the safety of your cosmetics; less is more
• Fewer chemicals and added products on the label is the better choice. This rule applies for everything!
• BE PROACTIVE! Big business and medical companies want to make money. The health of their consumers is not their bottom line so make it yours.
