Michelle Obama’s arms. Yes that’s right.

Apparently, Of all the things we have to worry about during this time in national history, some obviously very threatened “HATERS” are seriously tripping off of the fact that Mrs. Obama shows her arms more than they think appropriate.

There are long standing values within the professional work environment that women must cover themselves. This coverage should include but not be limited to: cover cleavage, legs should be covered with stockings if they are exposed, skirts shouldn’t be worn above the knee, no open toed shoes, and more specific to this case… must never have exposed arms unless wearing a short sleeved blouse and even that borders on scandal. Seriously, folks need to be concerned about freeing many Middle Eastern women of the kabala’s that they MUST wear to stay alive. The efforts of the same people, who are “concerned” about Mrs. Obama’s arms, would be better served advocating for worldwide women’s rights rather than wasting valuable air space on something as trivial as the length of Michelle O’s sleeves.

It is apparent that Mrs. Obama, is the epitome of a strong black woman. She is redefining what and how the world should perceive women. A woman must be measured by her content, competence, ability, spirit, merit and works. Now don’t get me wrong, there are still boundaries that should never be crossed, even in “chill mode” sisters must maintain a level of decorum (e.g., not going TO the club looking like a stripper, being loud and cursing in public, burping in people’s faces, not saying “excuse me” when one knows that they have violated, etc.). Decorum is critical because women are the keepers of balance and harmony. When that sacred pact with the Almighty is broken then that woman is deemed “unlady like”. Simply translated- your queen status is reduced to royal jester (or a clown), if not revoked until self realization occurs.

Michelle Obama, like her husband, knows how to roll up her sleeves and get in the trenches to do the hands on work required to get this country back on track. So if going sleeveless makes her ready to read to children in the public charter schools, or plant seedlings for the Department of Agriculture, then let us all be open to redefining or better yet eliminating undue conditions on what makes women individual and unique….especially those conditions that have nothing to do with the CONTENT of that woman!
