In 2010 approximately 650,000 people were identified as homeless within the United States of America. A significantly growing number of children, youth and young adults are being forced into homelessness for various reasons.

In an effort to bring awareness to a condition that is increasing on a daily basis -all are encouraged to participate in the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Mini Walk on November 19, 2011 (Rain or Shine) held on the National Mall (DC). The registration fee is the donation.
On-site Registration begins at 7:00 am and ends at 9:30 am. The Walk-a-thon will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and will require all team members to be assembled and ready to walk for a great cause. The recommended mode of transportation is METRO. Take METRO to the Smithsonian Station (Blue/Orange Line). Avoid the crowd and come early to enjoy the Pre-Walkathon Program. The team will meet by the Carousel on the Mall at 8:30 a.m.
