SPIKE LEE DIRECTS KOBE BYRANT DOCUMENTARY

On May 16,2009 Spike Lee’s documentary, ‘Kobe Doin Work: A Game in the Life’ will air on ESPN.

This project goes inside the mind of Kobe Bryant in a game against the San Antonio Spurs. Spike Lee has set up 30 cameras from several angles all over the Los Angeles Staples Center to focus on Kobe whe he diddnt have the ball and his comments throughtout the ge on the court and on the bench that was recorded.

“There was a film at the Cannes Film Festival a couple of years ago about the soccer great (Zinedine) Zidane,” Spike Lee told ESPN. “In the film, they had several cameras on him the whole time. I had never seen anything like it before in sports, and I got to thinking … ya know, this would work even better for basketball. So I reached out to Kobe, coach Phil Jackson, Dr. Buss, his daughter, commissioner David Stern and ESPN, and we got it done.”

This Kobe documentary will air on ESPN, Saturday, May 16 at 8 p.m. EST, are you watching?
